Britt Promotion fun...
Britt is officially done with middle school... I can't believe how fast it went. I can so vividly remember her first day at HPMS. She looked so little compared to the big 8th graders...now she's a 9th grader. My advice to all you young mothers out there (I'm finally admitting that group no longer includes me) is to truly enjoy each moment. Your kids will be going into HS before you know it. Someone gave me that advice at one of Britt's baby showers, and I thought they were "oh so sentimental and a little crazy"...now here I am facing the reality that my once a baby is now in HS.
Britt and some of her good friends met over at Gina's house. I was upstairs on make-up and hair duty and Gina's mom was fixing dinner downstairs. Gina's sister was also working on hair duty. Ally had a friend over and they loved dipping their feet in the pool and watching all the big girls in their moment of excitement. It was soo fun!!!
Britt is talking to Wayne...who was at work but still wanted to be part of the moment. Britt found out she didn't like having long nails because she couldn't TEXT...such dreadfullness!!!

Britt and Gina

this is Britt's face that lets me know I've officially taken enough photos...she gets a little giddy and yells "is this face good?" or a big goofy "CHHEEESSEE"...at this point I just want to take more pictures because then the "real" Britt comes out!!!
This was the Last day of school...they had a promotion ceremony which was very crowded and Britt looked like a needle in a haystack. Most of the kids from our ward had made plans to meet at the flagpole for pictures
Sadly, I never got a great "jumping" picture.
HPMS Angels...
what a fun group of kids!!! Mikey and Brad have pretty good odds at getting dates in a few more years!!!

Playing catch-up (the story of my life)
Baby Alice...isn't she so yummy? This is the baby of a good friend of ours in the ward, Rebecca. Her family was out of town over Memorial Day, so she and Alice came over for Sunday dinner. Of course we were all in heaven. (Alice doesn't help much with my baby hunger)
We put Alice in our big bean bag chair...isn't she such a cutie? Can you tell Britt adores her too?
Ally gives us a tour of her classroom and shows off some of her work and favorite spots at school...
This is the garden of flowers outside her classroom...she's such a little ham
We love our Ally!!!
Britt with an injured back was of course saddened that she didn't get to show off her amazing hula hoop skills, but thrilled that she got to do her "Bad Idea Bear" part. (It's from the play Avenue Q, if you're familiar with this play they made a G rated version for the middle school)
I seem to have lucked out with Britt...she has the best group of friends. Of course there's always drama...(put more than 2 teenagers together and there's drama)but on the whole they really are all great!
Sometimes I think...am I just prejudiced, or is my family really that cute?
Jay is getting way too into the overnight hiking (in his moms opinion he's enjoying being away far to much)... he really loves it so I guess I'll have to learn to!!! Below is Jay's final trombone performance in elementary! He found the perfect instrument for his personality!!!
There's a little bit of a catch up post. Sad thing is, is that soo much has happened that I'm behind again. Ughh. Good thing it's SUMMER!!!

Check out Ally's blog for more...
All of the 2nd graders at Walnut Grove did a fabulous production last night. It was so fun to see all of their hard work pay off. The whole program was so great. We borrowed Ally's outfit from our neighbor who just happens to be from India. (gotta love that) They were more than willing to let Ally borrow Nintya's outfit. Right down to the bindi!!! Jay man has been busy...
Jay's class participated in an "onsight" field trip called WALK-THRU REVOLUTIONARY WAR...this company comes to the school and puts on this amazing 2 1/2 hour long production all about the Revolutionary War. A few weeks prior to the production each kid is given a character and a war scene (as a team) Each class is divided into 4 teams and are awarded points based on different criteria--like... parts memorized, is the child in costume, do they have a prop, presentation (yadda yadda and so on) If you know Jay at all you know he did every possible option to get the most points...which he did- he got the maximum amount of points a single person could get (and the most points in his class) Jay was assigned John Adams and The Battle of Lexington and Concord. One of the kids was sick so Jay was chosen that day to also be Paul Revere...he did his hardest to memorize the part with the little time he had (10 minutes)...of course he succeeded and was fabulous!
