Oregon

Life in Oregon has been really different for all of us. Different good not different bad. I went back to work full time and Wayne has been doing the full time at home thing. If nothing else is gained we both have really learned to appreciate each others roles.
Going back to work full time has been really hard for me. I've missed so much...Britt got her driver's permit. This was the hardest thing for me, I felt so jipped that I didn't get to be there for the moment. I did get a play by play via text and a picture of the big moment, but it wasn't the same. Probably totally selfish to say, but I just didn't feel like Wayne enjoyed the moment as much as I would have...I'M THE MOM!!! I really miss volunteering in Ally's class. I'm grateful she still has a few years left in elementary so I will still get to do some volunteering.
Jay made his middle school basketball team and thank goodness I didn't ever miss a game (I probably would've quit my job if that was the case) It has been fun to see Jay meld so well and to see his confidence in himself grow so much. Jay also tried out for the middle school musical Bye Bye Birdie and got the part of Hugo! He is loving all the attention from all the girls. I can't wait to see him up on stage where he LOVES to be.
My job is just a temporary thing, and I look forward to assuming my natural role as a stay at home mom. I have gained a huge appreciation for all those moms who have to work and make mothering look so easy. IT'S HARD!!! I've never been a fan of the phrase "working mom" because all moms work!!! Wayne has been very sweet and loving and tells me I'm his hero! NOW HE GETS WHAT I DID DURING THE DAY!!!
Britt is helping do the choreography for Jay's musical. (she loves it) The stake here is very different than in Pleasanton. I definitely see the benefits of President Coopers inspiration to combine the wards for youth programs. In the nearly 5 months that we've been here, there has only been 1 stake activity...so weird!!! Seminary has been different for Britt, she really misses Brother Maxwell. She never has missed or complained but I know she doesn't love seminary like she did last year. Takes time!!!
I'm serving as a counselor in the RS presidency. Very different from Primary and YW! Lots of changes with our family, but we're doing GREAT, I love how well my kids have faced the challenges of a facing a new ward and school. They amaze me!

Lots more to blog and I'll post some pictures too!
